In the Tyrolean Stubaital, iron processing has a long tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages. The top quality of the hand-forged STUBAI carving irons is guaranteed by expert inspection after every work step.
What makes the STUBAI carving knives so special?:
- Hand-ground cutting edge
- Finely ground and polished, therefore easy to re-sand
- High-quality special carbon steel, resulting in high edge retention
- Hand-forged blade guarantees the highest quality and long service life
- With embossed stitch number on the blade
- Special heat treatment in the most modern, in-house hardening shop (58-60 HRC)
- Internal clamp prevents cracks in the handle
- Proven, octagonal beech handle
Based on the shape of the cutting edge, the stitch, the carving irons are differentiated into ball irons, flat irons, hollow irons and special shapes such as Gaißfuß or Swiss knives. Each stitch number is offered in numerous shape sizes.
The illustrations per stitch at a scale of 1:1 (see PDF) illustrate the differences between the stitches and their subordinate shape sizes.
