Surface finishing

Use a very sharp tool and a steady hand. Make the final cut evenly and without pressure – this will create a glossy surface even before sanding.

Oil accentuates the grain, wax adds shine, and varnish protects against moisture. For everyday items, we recommend food-safe oils and waxes from Complex or Chestnut.

Work your way through the grit sizes step by step (e.g., 80 → 120 → 240 → 400). Use a low speed, change the sandpaper regularly, and vacuum up dust.
