CROWN ECO Line
The new standard in the entry-level class.
The ECO-Line turning knives were developed to offer beginners, but also cost-conscious advanced users and professionals, an extremely affordable knife series "Made in England". These knives are a real challenge to cheap goods from the Far East.
To the usual high CROWN To ensure quality, the turning tools are made from the same HSS/M2 steel as the CROWN Standard knives manufactured. The processing of the steel is also identical. The price advantage results from the different (time-saving) final treatment of the ECO-Line knives. They are not polished by hand, but machine-polished and are delivered with a black surface coating and a handle made of unstained beech wood.
The coating even offers the advantage of slightly increased resistance to corrosion.
We now offer an inexpensive entry-level SET in the affordable ECO-Line price range, as well as the most important knife types!

The turning knives are made of HSS / M2 (high-speed steel) from Austrian production. The finish is traditionally done by hand and ensures a high-quality surface.
CROWN "CRYOGENIC" series
JUST BETTER! CROWN Turning knife "CRYOGENIC"!
THE "Cryogenic" KNIFE STEEL: Significantly longer service life compared to conventional HSS tools, easier sharpening and optimal resistance even on extremely hard woods characterize these new, higher alloyed HSS-C CRYOGENIC ("CRYO" for short) tools.
The secret lies in the special, complex manufacturing process with rapid cooling of the HSS-C steel at extremely low temperatures of minus 185° C!
The result of the CRYOGENIC process is a high-performance steel with a refined, particularly fine crystal structure.
This results in:
- A stable and long-lasting cutting edge
- Easier grinding due to the fine structure of the steel
- The visco-elastic high-performance steel allows the optimal processing of extremely hard woods
THE KNIFE HANDLE Ultra grip: In addition to the elegant look, this one is in collaboration with Drechselmeister The new Ultra Grip knife series developed by Baumann is a highlight! There are recesses milled lengthways at the end of the ergonomic handle, which ensure optimal GRIP (hold) when working.
At 255 mm, the new handle is also longer than before. Certain tools come with a 355mm long handle.

CROWN M42 / CRYO series
The new “premier class” - Special tools for wood turners with the highest demands.
The new CROWN M42 Cryogenic line covers the needs of wood turners with very high quality standards. All knives are made from high-quality cryogenically hardened M42 HSS high-speed steel (cobalt alloy) to achieve even greater service life and quality.
